Westminster College is a lovely setting in a delightful city. As part of the Cambridge Theological Federation, it is affiliated to the University of Cambridge. Following a major refurbishment in 2014, it offers some of Cambridge’s best college rooms. It’s the ideal venue for a business leadership retreat.
In concentrating on theological studies and the training for training clergy, the college reflects the original purpose of most Cambridge colleges. Westminster’s students have generally studied full-time for four years, including a year’s internship in a local church. But recent years have seen the growth of part-time and distance-learning options.
The college’s beautiful grounds also provide a home, in a stunning new building, to the Woolf Institute, and to the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion.
More photos of the college, and further information, are available on the college’s conference website.
The stained glass you see here is from one of several windows in the college chapel. This panel symbolises the temptation of Christ to worldly power instead of obedience.
The words above it are based on Psalm 148. That Psalm, and the story of Christ’s temptation, express some of the background vision for ‘whole-life worship’ that inspires this retreat.
